Rockin’ Wardrobe Basics
Hey there Rats and Rebels, SweetPea here with the first taste of our swingin’ style tips for those new to our special brand of retro- a little rough around the edges ;) Here at RBR we like to keep it classy while also staying true to our Rat roots, so most of our stuff has that special flair that will give you a unique and classic look all at the same time! Here are a few basic pieces I recommend for beginner pinups and newbie greasers:
For the Greasy Guy:
A Classic T-Shirt: A basic T-shirt is a staple of both modern and retro wardrobes. Rat Bastards have worn this simple look to keep comfy while workin’ and playin’ for decades. Luckily the modern versions sport nifty designs to show your own personal style. RBR’s shirts are comfy cotton and have your choice of several artsy, tattoo and greasy designs to suit your tastes. This Deathrace ’49 design is perfect for all you lead sledders and greasers alike.

Cuffed Work Jeans: What will identify YOU as the greasy retro Rat you are? The original Dickies jeans in a dark wash! Rat Bastard prefers this brand by far because they are tough enough to last through any job ya got while still lookin their greaser best! Find them on Amazon here:
The Skinny Tie: For formals and functions, Rat Bastard says ties are a MUST! Show your lady (or your mama) that you are made of class while still rockin’ your style in a skinny tie by RBR. In a cool tiger stripe, we are pretty sure these ties are the perfect solution to matching up your duds to your date’s:

For the Classy Retro Gal:
The Perfect Swing Dress: If you have just one dress in your wardrobe, make it a swing dress! Our cool Cat friends at Cats Like Us have several to choose from. Their styles are all-out retro with modern sizing. The classic designs they stock work on all body types and flatter you, rather than just being barely there to cover the essentials like many of today’s dresses. Try one on at Main and Broad Street today, or order online, they make returns super easy and they always post measurements so your fit is just right! They have a rockin’ blog on their website as well with style tips so check em out!
This little number is one of my favorites!

Your OWN tshirt: Why not Greaser Gal? RBR’s shirts are unisex! For hitting a happening concert or festival where a dress just won’t do, slip into a comfy tee and cuff your jeans and you are still rockabilly fab! Show love for your own Rat Bastard or look for the greaser of your dreams in my favorite RBR design:

Hair Accessories: No little darlin’s wardrobe is complete without a supply of hair flowers, bows and bandannas to match every outfit. With all the accessories available, why settle on just one? SweetPea’s hair flowers come in so many rockin’ styles and colors you can customize your look hundreds of ways.
This retro mousie mama also recommends bandannas for those hard to handle hair days. Available almost everywhere, they are wasy to find and wear. Check out this blog from Cats Like Us on how to use em!
